Gas fire pits and patio fireplaces are very convenient to use. Flip a switch or use a remote control to start your outdoor gas flame. Many, however, do enjoy the look of a real wood fire burning brightly in a wood burning fire pit. Both are available from Home and Hearth Outfitters for your consideration. A Beautiful Artistic Addition to Your Home
Custom fire pits are a great way to add an artistic element to your patio design. Some are wonderfully shaped to look like a piece of modern sculpture, yet in this case a piece of useful as well as beautiful sculpture, as the outdoor fire pit allows you to easily warm your patio for continued enjoyment even when the temperature drops in the evening.
Similar to the fire pit, a patio fireplace can be used in an outdoor setting. These integrate many designs including a back and a mantle, much like you would find with a traditional fireplace in an indoor setting. The outdoor patio fireplace can be used in a patio in an architectural manner, to add a wall to a seating area. This comes in handy if you are trying to block out an uninspired view in the distance, for example, while adding warmth to your outdoor seating area.
A fire pit makes a lovely focal point for your patio area as well. Much as you would in interior design, you want a focal point in a room, in this case an outdoor patio room. A dramatic outdoor fire pit makes a great focal point, around which you can arrange tables and chairs so that the outdoor room feels complete, comfortable as well as useable.
We prefer to use all stainless steel parts. This may be more expensive, but it will last much longer. Our fire pit rings are drilled with a specific pattern to avoid a 'ring of flame' effect. Many firepit installers use grates over the fire ring. We prefer to use a stainless steel pan beneath the ring. This provides several benefits. First, it keeps the flame above the ring. Second, the flame is less susceptible to wind turbulence underneath the ring. The pan can then be filled with lava rock to hide the ring. Many users also prefer to have a log set as well. We piece custom log sets together from our various vendors to create the most realistic effect possible.
